Last night, the children were baking and Best Daughter came up with the sweetest idea. Instead of cracking the eggs that they were using to bake with, they decided to blow them in order to use the shells afterwards, as a hidden message vessel.
After blowing the eggs, by making small holes at each end, they painted them.
Then they wrote out tiny messages on paper, which were rolled up super-small, and pushed through the hole at one end of the egg. The key is too keep the hole as tiny as possible to keep the tension on the shell.
Then little card boxes were constructed, deliberately leaving them plain and mysterious on the outside, packed them with straw, and with ‘crack me’ written on the inside of the lid.
These are being posted today – what a lovely thing to receive.
