Description
The Briar Bunnies are machine -sewn mini rabbitty hares made from linen with contrast stripey legs. They could be handsewn but the clothes are probably better sewn on a machine. My intention was to create something that could be finished in an hour or two (they are trickier than I thought) and that was child-friendly (not a toy though!).
The Briar Bunnies measure roughly 11″ from toe to ear tip. They have a simple gathered neck dress and jacket that are cleverly constructed together.
Ingredients in Make Me kit for two: Instructions, paper pattern, fat 1/16th linen fabric, fat 1/8th striped cotton, 1 needle, 8 pins, tonal thread for body, embroidery thread, fat 1/8th of two different but complementary cotton for clothes, 26cm elastic, 80cm satin ribbon, safety pin.
Supplies: You will also need a sewing machine, iron, scissors and a knitting needle/chopstick for turning through and stuffing, tonal thread for clothes.
The Briar Bunnies are not based on Luna Lapin. They are a bit fiddly in places because of their size – but I tried to make everything a turn-able width without any swearing.
The Briar Bunnies are the property of CoolCrafting and the pattern or any part of the instructions should not be replicated for commercial gain.
