About

The Riley Collection includes a top and dress pattern.  It has been designed to give you a gentle start in dressmaking.  It teaches you how to create darts to add shape to a garment.  The sleeve is a raglan design which means it is joined across the shoulder and does not need to be set into the armhole.  The neckline is wide so the garment can fit over your head eliminating the need to insert a zip or other fastening.

Fabric

Cotton, lightweight denim, chambray, boiled wool, double gauze, linen and other medium-weight fabrics will work well.

• In-seam pockets
• Facings

The dress is a loose fit but a flattering shape and can be worn with a layer beneath, making it perfect for all seasons.

The Riley dress was designed with bold and exciting printed fabrics in mind for the skirt panel, to allow people to show off their personal style.  The monochrome and geometric paintings of Bridget Riley inspired the original version of the dress.
