Designed by Sheila Mason for CoolCrafting ( Sheila is our sample stitcher, Queen of tiny topstitching – and avid knitter) this is a placket front sweater with fairisle band and yoke, belted trews and sturdy boots.
Ingredients: Instructions, 3 x 50gm contrasting colours of Rico Essentials Merino DK 100% Virgin Wool, 2 buttons, Pleather strip and buckle
You will also need a pair of 3.25mm (UK 10 /US 3) knitting needles,
Set of 5 double pointed (DPNs) 3.25 mm(UK 10 /US 3) needles,
Large eyed blunt tipped sewing needle
Stitch holder
Scissors
Stitch Markers or contrast thread

Ramsey’s mountaineering gear kit is such a pleasure to knit. The yoke around the jumper in the fairisle pattern was tricky for me, using dpns but was so beautiful when finished. The boots were easier to make than I expected with wool left over for another pair. I’ve ordered another remake kit as Luna will love this too.
