Description
The Winter Skating Outfit includes a cleverly constructed double-breasted dress in brushed cotton tartan with a bias-cut front panel, cap sleeves, a full skirt and an edge-to-edge fit, and a flared coat with princess seams and a shawl collar. The winter skating coat also has a deep back pleat and a dramatic fur collar. Alternatively, you could make a self-fabric collar or skip the collar for an equally elegant shape.
Our Make Me kits include easy-to-read instructions with beautiful photography and clear diagrams demonstrating the sewing steps. The Winter Skating Outfit is one of our more advanced projects because of the design and the fabric. We recommend that you have experience making clothing (person or Luna-sized) before. This project is designed to be machine-sewn, but a very patient person could do it by hand. All the clothes in the Luna Lapin collection (unless stated otherwise) will fit Luna and all her friends.
Ingredients (either in this kit or you will need)
Tartan Dress
Instructions, Paper Pattern, 30cm x 150cm wide Check brushed cotton, 6 doll buttons, 4 press studs.
Skating Coat
32cm (12 ½ in) x 150cm (60”) wide velvet, faux fur, tartan (from dress fabric) ready-made tartan bow, 80cm 30mm bias binding, hook and eye fastening.
Please Note—we have had to switch to a slightly lighter fur than in the images for Luna. It’s just as lovely but a little more grey.
