Description
Our Make Me Ernest kits include easy-to-read instructions, beautiful photography, and clear diagrams demonstrating the sewing steps. We are sure that if you read the instructions carefully, you will be successful in your sewing, but if you have any questions (or just want to show off your work), join Luna Lapin’s Little World, our helpful Facebook community.
Ernest Fox is one of our intermediate projects mostly because he is made in a jumbo cord (but you could choose to make him in tweed or felt), which might be a new fabric to some. There is nothing in his construction that you should struggle with if you have a little sewing experience under your belt. This project is designed to be machine-sewn, but a very patient person could do it by hand.
Ingredients (either in this kit or you will need)
Instructions, paper pattern, 40cm of 150cm wide Ginger corduroy for the main body, 42cm x 1/4 width of Snow White corduroy for the contrasting pieces, 2 18 Ligne eye buttons or safety eyes, 4 40 ligne leg buttons, 5cm square of black felt, bobbin of tonal thread, 2 Mtrs fine leather thonging for the arm and leg attachment.
You will also need a sewing machine, iron, scissors, pins, normal sewing needle, a mattress needle a small amount of black thread, and a knitting needle/chopstick for turning through/stuffing Ernest. We highly recommend using a mattress needle to stitch on the arms and legs.
You will also need roughly 250gm stuffing.
Ernest Fox and his wardrobe are the property of Sarah Peel and CoolCrafting.
Please note due to the nature of some of the components we cannot regard Ernest as a toy and he should not be given to small children as there is a risk that the buttons on the fox could be swallowed.

Machine sewn, this was a change from hand sewing other animals. Loved making him! Such beautiful cord and great quality. The very tactile material makes a wonderful larger fox. A definite favourite for me and a great quality buy.
