Meet Sidney, Sol and Stanley, our retired beach donkeys. These sweet old boys are enjoying their golden years on the coast, they love nothing more than an early night after a dip in the North Sea – whatever the weather. Sol, our sandy coloured donkey, is partial to a Margarita, whereas Sidney and Stanley are real ale drinkers in darker browns. Each kit makes one donkey.

Buy a Make Me Kit if you need all the ingredients, pattern and instructions – please choose if you would like stuffing. Please note we do not post stuffing overseas
Buy a Remake Kit if you need the ingredients to make a second, third or fourth donkey.

Each kit is hand-assembled on the edge of the English Lake District.

Description

Our Make Me kits include easy-to-read instructions with beautiful photography and clear diagrams to demonstrate the sewing steps. We are sure that if you read the instructions carefully, you will be successful in your sewing, but if you have any questions (or just want to show off your work), join Luna Lapin’s Little World, our helpful Facebook community.

The Beach Donkeys are designed to be a mixture of hand-sewing and machine sewing and are suitable for intermediate/experienced stitchers. There are lots of different sewing kits in this kit, including working with faux fur and boucle. We recommend you are at least 13/14 years old Though all of our Luna-sized outfits are interchangeable, the donkeys are taller than most of Luna’s friends, so trousers may be cropped! We designed the Seaside Set for them

Ingredients:
21cm (8 ½ in) x 90cm (36in) wide darker felt, 20cm (8in) x 30cm (12in) boucle, 5cm (2”) pale felt, strip of faux fur, bobbin of tonal thread, 2 buttons for eyes, 3 buttons for arm joints/tail, 2 buttons for legs, sewing needle, doll needle.

Please note – there are no pins in this kit – we decided you already had many many of our Prym pins!

You will also need a sewing machine, stuffing, pins,  iron, scissors, water-soluble marking pen, and a pencil/knitting needle/chopstick for turning through/stuffing.

    Beautiful beach donkeys were easy to make with perfect instructions. The use of boucle and 100% wool felt was ideal and the faux fur mane was perfect.
