Cotton Poplins are slightly heavier in fibre and hand-feel than cotton lawns. The surface is smooth, and the fabrics are easy to care for and stable to sew – perfect for beginners sewing projects because they handle well. Cotton poplins are suitable for quilting, home accessories as well as dresses, tops and summer bottoms. This group of fabrics won’t deliver the drape of fabrics made of viscose, so its important to think through to your end result.
Normally cotton poplins tend to be the narrower width fabrics so you may need to allow a little more for garment making – or check your pattern fabric requirements – we can always help you establish what you need. Most of the cotton poplins in this section are 110-115cm wide (44-45 inches)
Cotton poplin can be washed and dried as other cottons, but we would never recommend tumble drying for any fabric.
Multiple quantities will be cut as continuous lengths, i.e. if you buy 2 mtrs and one 1/2 mtr they will come as a 2.5mtr length.
