Established in 2010, Merchant and Mills produce a range of card pattern, and sewing equipment in stark, utilitarian packaging. It’s very beautiful, and the founders, Carolyn Denham and Roderick Field have the same beliefs that we do here at CoolCrafting, about valuing what you own, enjoying the art of making and not looking for the next credit card hit.
This short, rather lovely film explains a little of the the Merchant and Mills story so far.
Merchant and Mills
Visit the Merchant and Mills website for more information on what they do. On our recent trip to Rye, we drove past the shop, unfortunately after closing. What comes across strongly to me is how important neutral colours, clean lines and timelessness are to the Merchant & Mills brand, and how madly, smilefully, colourful our stuff is in contrast.
