Dressmaking in a Day in Kendal, September 2019

Would like to start making your own clothes? The Camber Set is a Merchant and Mills dress Pattern. An easy to make, easy to wear shape; it suits many figures and fabric types.

Come and learn more about reading a commercial pattern and the techniques of dressmaking.

Let us hold your hand through understanding and sewing this simple but versatile shape. We will start off with looking at the general fit of the garment and whether it needs adjustment to your size. Then progress to translating those adjustments to your shape. The rest of the day is spent cutting out and sewing the start of your handmade wardrobe.

You will need to bring your own working sewing machine, but we have overlockers for finishing the garments. Guided by Sarah Peel.

Price includes Camber Set pattern, tuition and refreshments.

You will need to purchase dress fabric.

Lunch can be found in one of Kendals many lovely cafes or you can bring your own to eat here.

10 – 4 pm at our workshop in Kendal, above the CoolCrafting shop.

This workshop is more suited for adults with experience of simple sewing machine projects.
