Description
Our Make Me Hamish the Highlander kits include easy-to-read instructions with beautiful photography and clear diagrams demonstrating the sewing steps. We are sure that if you read the instructions carefully, you will be successful in your sewing, but if you have any questions (or just want to show off your work), join Luna Lapin’s Little World, our helpful Facebook community.
Hamish is designed to be hand-sewn and is suitable for the intermediate stitcher; he has a removable tail and longer leg, plus we use faux fur for his tuft! We recommend you are at least 13/14 years old. Though all our Luna-sized outfits are interchangeable, Hamish is taller than most of Luna’s friends, so trousers are stylishly cropped! As a Scot, he had to have a kilt, so we designed one just for him. You can find the thespian outfit here. The pattern is only available in our fourth book, Luna Lapin And Friends: A Year of Making.
Ingredients: 22.5cm (9in) x 90cm (36in) wide darker felt, 17.5cm (7in) x 15cm (6in) contrast felt, a piece of tonal fur tonal thread winding, bobbin of tonal thread, 2 beads for eyes, 2 buttons for arm joints, 1 button for Tail, 2 buttons for legs, 110-120gms stuffing, sewing needle, doll needle, eight pins.
You will also need: a sewing machine (optional), stuffing, scissors, water-soluble marking pen, and a pencil/knitting needle/chopstick for turning through/stuffing Hamish.
