I’m a novice sewer. Can I make Luna?
We like to say Luna is suitable for an “adventurous beginner”; by the time you have made her and her clothes, you will know much more than you did on the first stitch.
Luna is intended to be a skill-building project. You will learn skills from making Luna and all her friends, plus their wardrobes, which you can apply to all areas of dress-making. If you can make Luna a dress, you can probably make your own!
How do I know how hard it will be?
Some of Luna’s Friends and outfits are trickier than others. We want you to succeed, so we try to make the difficulty as clear as possible. In books and (increasingly) on the website, we use a carrot guide to indicate difficulty: one being the least difficult and three being a little bit hard.
My felt for Luna looks pink, is that right?
YES, we chose the colour for Luna because of its warmth. The felt is a gorgeous marled grey with a pink undertone. We love the shade and think the pink undertone means whatever you pair with it, Luna still looks gorgeous.
How can I make Luna and her friend’s child safe?
The simple answer is you can’t. Luna and her friends are not designed to be a toy. They have plenty of small parts, and the felt does not stand up well to warm hands and play. She is, however, designed to be loved and admired, so it is probably best you pop her on a shelf and tell her she is a very nice rabbit once or twice a day.
