Three clever vest tops, knitted flat, made for layering and designed with love—one for each of our bigger friends.

All three of these patterns were designed by Dorothy Jenkins, an expert knitter and member of our team. They are inspired by her own grandchildren, our customers and all the hours spent rearranging the wool room.

Thistle – Mock Houndstooth Vest
Inspired by 1930’s menswear this sample is knitted in Sirdar Haworth Tweed DK, col 909 Moreland Moss and 907 Ryedale Russet using 3.5 and 3.75mm needles

Laburnum – Fair Isle Vest
Dorothy’s Fair Isle vest is a nod to Miss Marple and is knitted in Rowan Felted Tweed using col. 151 Bilberry, 217 Aster, 161 Avocado and 181 Mineral on 3.5, 3.75 and 4mm needles

Peony – Lace Edged Vest
This 1920’s number is knitted in col. 1100 Seashell from WYS Elements using 3.5 and 3.75 mm needles

  • Yarn A 1 x 50gr Sirdar Haworth Tweed DK
  • Yarn B 1 x 50gr Sirdar Haworth Tweed DK
  • 3.5 mm (UK – /US 4) knitting needles
  • 3.75mm (UK9/US 5) knitting needles
  • 2 x stitch holders/safety pins

  • Yarn A 1 x 50gr Rowan Felted Tweed
  • Yarn B 1 x 50gr Rowan Felted Tweed
  • Yarn C 1 x 50gr Rowan Felted Tweed

  • 3.5 mm (UK – /US 4) knitting needles
  • 3.75mm (UK9/US 5) knitting needles
  • 4mm (UK 8/US 6) knitting needles
  • 2 x stitch holders/safety pins
